RED Mountain has been modernized over the past few years.

With expanded terrain, a rennovated day lodge and modern, luxury accomodations, RED is a place to discover. RED Mountain's 110 runs are divided by skill level as follows: 18 per cent beginner, 31 per cent intermediate, and 51 per cent advanced. All skiers and snowboarders will appreciate the spacious slopes where crowding is never a concern.

Red Mountain is a great place to hone skills. There is something about the terrain here that encourages improvement. Start with a gentle more forgiving slope and progress at an individual pace. Of course, advanced skiers can immediately head for deep powder on steep slopes. Those looking for a little more solitude can head into the backcountry.

RED even offers an affordable opportunity to try cat-skiing. Powder hounds can purchase a single run and they will be shuttled to the top of Mt. Kirkup and then descend 1.6km/1mi through glades of powder.

Deep and Steep

According to Ski Canada Magazine, Red Mountain Resort has the Best Powder and Best Fall Line Steeps. From the top of the resort's two mountain peaks – Red Mountain and Granite Mountain – stands of subalpine trees and glades fan out in every direction and the terrain is seriously steep.

Take the Motherlode Chair to the top of Granite and check out the double black diamond Slides, known for deep powder that lasts into the afternoon, and for a consistent fall line. If the wind is blowing, keep going past the Slides into the Roots area – a predictable powder trap.

RED Mountain is the last great, unspoiled resort. Located in Rossland, along the famous Powder Highway, RED delivers 1,680 hectares (4,200 acres) of pristine skiing unfettered by over-development. In 2013 & 2014, we added nearly 400 hectares (1,000 acres) of mostly-intermediate terrain on Grey Mountain, an entirely new peak.

With approximately 7.6 m (25 ft) of annual snowfall, wide-open groomed runs, epic vertical, cat-skiing, 360 degree descents off select peaks, a rich tradition, & the best tree runs in BC, it's no wonder The NY Times voted us #8 "Best Place in the World to Visit" (2013). Other recent accolades include #1 in Powder Magazine's "Ski Town Throwdown" (2012), & "Most Underrated Resort" by Skiing Magazine (2012). Come & enjoy fresh turns that you don't have to fight for.
