At Red Mountain Resort, downhill skiers and snowboarders gain amazing access to two mountains – Red Mountain and Granite Mountain. The resort boasts 682ha/1,685ac of lift-serviced terrain, a substantial 890m/2,919ft of vertical, and a total of 88 marked runs. There is also more than 1,000ha/2,500ac of accessible backcountry – a popular option for powderhounds. Annual snowfall at Red averages 750cm/300in.
Red Mountain Resort, opened in 1947, was British Columbia's first ski resort. Predating the age of mega-developments, the resort grew organically, building strong community roots in Rossland.
With new owners, Red Mountain is a resort that is growing into its own right. With an expanded and renovated day lodge, modern condominiums just steps from the lifts, Red really focuses on winter sports. With a snowshoe loop in the base area, nearby cross-country skiing and an ice rink, there are numerous ways to enjoy your time at Red.

Rossland
Red Mountain is just a few minutes from Rossland, one of the highest-elevation towns in Canada. The town has an unrelenting charm and great aprés-ski potential. Check out the Old Firehall, a century-old building that houses arguably the best jazz bar in the Kootenay Rockies region.
With more than 30km/19mi of groomed trails, Rossland also has incredible cross-country skiing. The Blackjack Ski Club maintains these trails, which are located across the highway, just north of the main entrance to Red Mountain Resort.
