Need a morning start or a midday pick-me-up? Stop in at one of several coffee shops in downtown Quesnel. Granville's Coffee on Reid Street is known for its espresso bar, country breakfasts and sandwiches on thick homemade herb bread. Quesnel Bakery, also in the heart of town on Reid St, has been specializing in European baking for more than 30 years.

For casual fare check out Begbie's Bar & Bistro (best known for its large portions and good food), attached to the Best Western Tower Inn on Reid Street, or Sharks Club Bar and Grill, attached to Sandman Hotel Quesnel, on Chew Avenue just off Highway 97. The Club, with its 3.7m/12ft projector screen, is a great venue to watch major sporting events.

Ulysses Restaurant on Barlow Street serves traditional and modern Greek food, including Spanikopita and prawn Souvlaki. Penisola Classic Italiano, also on Barlow, offers traditional Italian food, such as fettuccini al porto, and veal saltimbocca.
