Prince Rupert is the place to be for the fun, tasty treats & the excitement of a festival where 10,000 people are having a great time! Welcome to Prince Rupert's annual Seafest community festival from June 6-9, 2013 where you'll have a weekend of activities to share with your family & friends. This year's theme is Saluting Community Volunteers. Some of the events include Seafest Parade, Soap Box Derby, Sailpast and Swim for Survial.

A picnic in the park to celebrate Canada's 146th birthday!

Canada Day celebrations in Prince Rupert are held annually in Mariner's Park to celebrate Canada's birthday. On July 1st, locals and visitors gather at Mariner's Memorial Park on 1st Ave E and McBride St. Ethnic foods, live music, and other entertainment that represent Canada's cultural mosaic are enjoyed on this day. Birthday cake is served by the Mayor and other local VIP's to anyone who wants a taste of sweetness. The day culminates with fireworks over the harbour that light up the summer sky upon dusk.

This annual event kicks off with the Lighting of the Christmas Trees at the Court House on Friday evening.

Local choirs & musicians sing carols while everyone munches on cookies & candy canes, washed down with hot chocolate, all supplied free by local sponsors.

Saturday's a special day for the children, starting with a traditional pancake breakfast with Santa & followed by the downtown Santa Parade.

Saturday evening's Sailpast sees festively decorated commercial & pleasure boats parading their vessels up & down the harbour playing Christmas music.

Hot chocolate, apple cider & cookies are free in keeping with the spirit of the season.
