Watch obedience and agility demonstrations, talk to pet organizations, and shop the vendors while you let your pup socialize with others.

Bring the whole gang out to help the staff of Huble Homestead celebrate Canada's birthday in traditional Huble style! Be sure to check out pioneer demonstrations like ice cream making, enter Dad in the pie-eating competition, and laugh at the kids as they play old-fashioned games like the egg toss. This event is guaranteed to have lots of prizes, complimentary birthday cake, and plenty of entertainment for the entire family!

Midway, tractor pull, livestock competitions including draft horse, light horse, team penning, bull riding, 4-H achievements & more. Stroll through the barns & heritage lane, take in a free show on either the local entertainment or full production stage, shop the vendors; enjoy the food court, strolling entertainment, exhibits & events. Family fun for everyone!

Be a Pioneer Kid for a whole week at Huble Homestead Historic Site! School aged children can learn all about being a kid 100 years ago by getting their hands dirty with pioneer chores and then learning old fashioned games and crafts, playing with pioneer toys, and getting a taste of history by helping make delicious treats like butter and ice cream. Registration must be completed through our partner, Big Brothers Big Sisters PG (bbbspg.ca). The site will remain open to regular visitors.

In 2013, we are celebrating the 150th anniversary of John Giscome's arrival at Lhedesti, later known as the Giscome Portage! This is a multi-cultural event, featuring Jamaican, Caribbean, and First Nations dishes, as well as music and demonstrations. Learn about the history of the trail through the centuries, take a guided tour of the Portage, and visit the Salmon Valley Post Office in the upper parking lot to learn about the geography and plants on the trail. Be sure to stop into the General Store for our season-end sale, and buy some vegetables from our garden!

Our old-fashioned Thanksgiving celebration, always a family favourite, features harvest activities like pumpkin carving, scarecrow making & apple bobbing. Kids can create & take home pioneer crafts & our staff will make sure the General Store has plenty of homemade apple cider to keep you warm. Take advantage of our special Thanksgiving menu & have a slice of delicious pumpkin pie for dessert. This will be your last chance to shop in your General Store, making this a great opportunity to start your Christmas shopping!

Join us at the scariest Halloween location in town! Take our spooky haunted house tour, go trick or treating, carve a pumpkin & roast some marshmallows! There will be lots of activities for both young & old, however, parental supervision is required for young children. This event is outside and in the dark, so dress warmly and bring a flashlight! Admission by donation, tours $3 per person.
