Festival du Bois is synonymous with traditions, highlighting the French-Canadian pioneering heritage and the strength of the community today - a vibrant and cosmopolitan centre with connections across Canada and beyond. This Festival successfully combines a world-caliber music festival with an entertaining and affordable family-friendly community celebration. With 10,000 + visitors gathered for a three-day festival, the event remains the largest francophone event west of the Rockies. Every year, it gives the community the opportunity to share and take part in celebrating the heritage and traditions of its French Canadian culture. The event elevates the community's sense of pride where younger and older generation find their place in the cultural mosaic.

Held annually in June at Coquitlam's Percy Parry Stadium, the BC Highland Games and Scottish Festival attracts more than 20 pipe bands, some of the best solo pipers, hundreds of highland dancers, Scottish heavy event athletes and clan tents, displays and food and product vendors from around the Pacific Northwest. This year includes new events such as non-competitive band performances, drum major demonstrations and one of the top solo piping prizes in North America. Come celebrate Simon Fraser University's 50th anniversary and listen to the world champion SFU Pipe Band. Activities for kids, haggis hunting, vintage British cars, whisky tasting, beer gardens and plenty of piping, drumming and dancing for everyone. Gates open at 9:00 am.
