Dining
McDonalds is the only chain eatery to be found, and even though Pemberton enjoys being off the beaten track, its dining certainly is not.
Pemberton Village offers Mexican, Japanese sushi, Chinese and Italian fare as well as good take out and catering services.
Coffee Houses
Mount Currie Coffee House in the Village Plaza is the place to pick up organic, specialty javas as well as made-from-scratch baked goods, paninis, breakfast burritos and salads. If coffees are killer great, then soups are just as amazing, based on whatever Valley produce is in season. The atmosphere here is easy country-urban; there's free Wi-Fi access and a bunch of ever-changing local art pieces on display.
Pemberton Restaurants
The Pony
A long-time Pemberton Village hangout, the local paper consistently rates The Pony (1392 Portage Rd) 'best' in various categories that range from "Best for People Watching" to "Best Value", "Best Staff" and a variety of others. When new ownership upped the ante mid 2009 in terms of vibe and food, it's sure to hit a Grand Slam of awards the next time around.

The Pony chefs have married their posh-dining experience with local flair and a menu selection that pushes all the right buttons from Eggs Benny variations to stylish pizzas to sizzling kebabs. The Pony bar is wild on any hockey night and every so often, it also hosts jazz-groups.
Wild Wood
Wild Wood (1436 Portage Rd, Portage Station) is another favourite. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, this comfortable restaurant is a good choice for families and group gatherings. Wild Wood also has three locations in Whistler: a café, a bistro and a tapas bar.
Golf Course Eateries
Both golf courses have quality restaurants, too. Away from designer-label Whistler, they are the preferred destinations for wedding receptions for price, food and views. The Black Squirrel at The Meadows Golf Course has an airy ambiance with surround-windows and a shaded patio overlooking the fairways; Fescues at Big Sky Golf & Country Club feels more casual and has a more intimate patio, mainly because of all the vine-covered rafters.
Picnic Supplies
Grimms Gourmet Deli (7433 Frontier St) can put together some of the best picnic goodies for leisurely hikes, hair-raising adventures or meandering drives. If the latter, watch for U-Pick berry fields, orchards and farms selling fresh-picked produce for an accompanying salad, tasty dessert or take-home treat.
