Accommodations
Parksville has been welcoming visitors ever since European settlers arrived here just after the American Civil War.
In fact, the very first such landowner, John Hirst, opened a hotel near his farm at the mouth of the Englishman River in the 1870s.
Today the local oceanfront is lined with first-rate resorts. Elsewhere options include a good selection of B&Bs, motels, campgrounds and RV sites, and short- and long-term vacation homes. Book well ahead when planning trips during ultra-busy summer and holiday seasons.
B&Bs
While Qualicum Beach is the B&B capital in the Oceanside region, some 30 homes in Parksville and area welcome overnight guests. Clusters of B&Bs are found in the rural outback of Errington and Nanoose Bay.
Resort-type Accommodation
Most of the major getaway spots are clustered along Resort Drive southeast of Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park. Condos, cottages, waterfront townhomes, and a spa resort are all here.
