In the Windermere Valley, golf is more than mere recreation – it is a way of life. There are no less than nine 18-hole and six 9-hole courses in the area, with one spectacular golf course at Panorama Mountain Village.
Greywolf Golf Course
Built right at the base of the Panorama ski hill, Greywolf Golf Course's alpine setting is simply amazing. The course looks as though it has been literally carved out of the mountainside, with an elevation differential of 122m/400ft between its highest and lowest points.
Designed by renowned golf course architect Doug Carrick, Greywolf has received many accolades since it opened in 1999. In 2005, the "Cliffhanger" won ScoreGolf's "Golfer's Choice" award for the best par 3 hole in British Columbia. Golf Digest ranks this course in the top 10 in Canada and in the top 100 outside of the US.

Eagle Ranch Golf Resort
Located just north of Panorama, Eagle Ranch Golf Resort offers a championship 18-hole course that weaves its way through bluffs and canyons, with some challenging ravines along the way. Golf Digest gives the course a 4.5 star rating. Post-game refreshments at the clubhouse, which sits high above the town of Invermere, are accompanied by spectacular views of Windermere Lake and the entire valley.
Fairmont Hot Springs
The resort at Fairmont Hot Springs features two full 18-hole courses, the Mountainside and the Riverside, and the par-three 9-hole Creekside course. Canada's "Golf Course of the Year" in 1998, Fairmont's Riverside is considered to be an excellent walking course. The Mountainside course is best known for the 600-yard fourth hole, known as the "Fairmonster".
Radium Hot Springs
The small village of Radium Hot Springs also boasts two fine 18-hole courses. The Resort Course, which is built against the western slope of the Rockies, has been there for more than half a century. The newer Springs Course, designed by Les Furber, is consistently ranked among Canada's top 100 courses.
