The Heart of the Rockies Triathlon is an Olympic Distance Triathlon. The swim takes place in Lake Windermere, followed by an out & back cycle route & a single lap out & back run. It's a spectacular venue in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, with stunning views of Lake Windermere & the mountains. The Heart of the Rockies Triathlon is thrilled to have several family groups participate in both the individual & team events. Come & participate or spectate.

Whether you are a serious competitor or a walk-in-the-park person, Loop the Lake is the event for you, your friends & your family. Complete as much of the course as you choose, at your own pace & comfort level. This 20th annual event welcomes walkers, runners, strollers & the whole family. The Lakeside Splashdown event involves paraglider & hang-glider pilots launching from Mount 7 in Invermere & attempting to land in a lake target for prizes. Enjoy 2 wonderful lakeside events.

For hockey fanatics, it's hard to imagine it getting any better than this. Invermere has been named the host city for this sanctioned qualifier BC Eastern Regional Pond Hockey Championships. Outdoor rinks, on either Lake Windermere or Lake Lillian, are approximately 75' x 150', nets are 6' wide and 10" tall and side boards are made of snow. It's 4-on-4 hockey with no goalies; teams can have up to 6 players.

Saturday is classic technique and Sunday is skate technique. There are lots of age categories for all events.

There are distances for all ages and abilities and awards will be presented to the top skiers in each category on both days. There are lots of draw prizes to be had. Top male & female will be awarded a special prize for the two day total time.

After the loppet, join us for the awards BBQ.
