Breweries, Distilleries & Cideries

There may only be a few Northern BC breweries, but the ones that do exist are big on variety and taste.
Plan B Brewing is a local craft brewery in Smithers that opened its doors in 2009. Sample the tasty selection of beers on a tour of the brewery (often led by the brewmasters themselves). On the commercial brewery side, choose from 17 different beers made by Pacific West Brewing (Prince George), whose long history of brewing dates back to 1957.
Plan B Brewing
Plan B Brewing offers visitors and residents a selection of five carefully crafted brews, which are named after local references such as Idiot Rock (a popular fishing hole) or Revenge of the Pine Pale Ale (a tribute to the pine tree devastation). Take a tour from one of the brewmasters, learn the story behind each beer, and then head to the sample bar to enjoy a cold one (or two). Tours are available Thursday to Saturday.
Pacific West Brewing
Pacific West Brewing's wide selection of beers include an amber ale that previously won gold at the "Oscars of the Brewing Industry" – the Brewing Industry International Awards. While tours aren't available, head to one of the region's pubs to pair a beer with local west coast seafood or wild game like venison and bison.
