Music on the Mountain is a community that started in 2010 with a dream and a few willing hands. Music on the Mountain is presented by Music on the Mountain Society, and is a 3 day full-on music and arts festival featuring original and independent music and art from all over BC, Canada and around the world. Check out the fantastic food vendors, artisans and visual artists. Bring along the kids for childrens' workshops and activities.

In 2013, we are celebrating the 150th anniversary of John Giscome's arrival at Lhedesti, later known as the Giscome Portage! This is a multi-cultural event, featuring Jamaican, Caribbean, and First Nations dishes, as well as music and demonstrations. Learn about the history of the trail through the centuries, take a guided tour of the Portage, and visit the Salmon Valley Post Office in the upper parking lot to learn about the geography and plants on the trail. Be sure to stop into the General Store for our season-end sale, and buy some vegetables from our garden!

Our old-fashioned Thanksgiving celebration, always a family favourite, features harvest activities like pumpkin carving, scarecrow making & apple bobbing. Kids can create & take home pioneer crafts & our staff will make sure the General Store has plenty of homemade apple cider to keep you warm. Take advantage of our special Thanksgiving menu & have a slice of delicious pumpkin pie for dessert. This will be your last chance to shop in your General Store, making this a great opportunity to start your Christmas shopping!

Join us at the scariest Halloween location in town! Take our spooky haunted house tour, go trick or treating, carve a pumpkin & roast some marshmallows! There will be lots of activities for both young & old, however, parental supervision is required for young children. This event is outside and in the dark, so dress warmly and bring a flashlight! Admission by donation, tours $3 per person.

This annual event kicks off with the Lighting of the Christmas Trees at the Court House on Friday evening.

Local choirs & musicians sing carols while everyone munches on cookies & candy canes, washed down with hot chocolate, all supplied free by local sponsors.

Saturday's a special day for the children, starting with a traditional pancake breakfast with Santa & followed by the downtown Santa Parade.

Saturday evening's Sailpast sees festively decorated commercial & pleasure boats parading their vessels up & down the harbour playing Christmas music.

Hot chocolate, apple cider & cookies are free in keeping with the spirit of the season.

Bundle up and bring the family to the historic Walter Wright Pioneer Village in Dawson Creek, BC for An Old Fashioned Christmas! Enjoy music and sleigh rides, chestnuts roasting on an open fire and free hot dogs and hot chocolate for everyone. Please help out those in need and bring a non-perishable food item for admission to this festive event.
