"Freedom of Form" is a solo exhibition by First Nations artist Arlene Ness from Hazelton, BC. Arlene Ness is an exceptional talent - most artists become accomplished in just one medium, but Ness seems to master every art form she turns her hand to. This exhibition showcases her exquisite carvings, stunning contemporary paintings as well as traditional forms and colours, drums and rattles, pen and ink blocks, button blankets, and stained glass. Gallery hours: Tues-Fri 12:00 pm-5:00 pm, Sat 9:00 am-4:00 pm. Admission by donation. Wheelchair accessible, car parking.

See the Canadian West through the artwork of R.D. Symons at the Fort St. John North Peace Museum from June 2 through September 24, 2014.
Symons was an artist, writer and naturalist. Born in England in 1898, he immigrated to Canada in 1914, to be a cowboy on a ranch in Saskatchewan.
He lived near Fort St. John from 1943 to 1961 first as a game warden and then as a rancher. He painted, worked with horses, wrote books, and was an advocate for conserving nature.
This exhibition was curated by Heather Smith of the Moose Jaw Museum & Art Gallery.
