Celebrate the raucous energy and infectious rhythms of Bhangra at the HSBC City of Bhangra Festival. The festival takes place in venues throughout downtown Vancouver and Surrey, with 10 days of free and ticketed events. Highlights this year include a free concert (located at the Vancouver Art Gallery Plaza), Celebrate the Harvest (an event featuring collaborations between and performances from Israeli folk dance and Punjabi folk arts), interactive workshops, demonstrations and a closing gala. Visitors will have a variety of fresh produce, meat, plants, garden art, handmade jewelry, soaps, furniture and crafts. They can also sample an array of food and beverages from restaurants and market vendors. Market is open 2 Sundays per month - check website for updates.
