The Dance Centre celebrates Diwali in the Discover Dance! noon hour series, with a performance by South Asian Arts showcasing some of the vibrant dance styles of India. The performance will feature bhangra, which was originally a joyful and high-spirited folk dance celebrating the harvest, along with intricately beautiful classical Indian dances, and Bollywood, the wildly popular mashup of jazz, traditional dances, comedy and pop culture that has taken the world by storm. There will be an artist talkback after the show. The performance is presented as part of the Lower Mainland's largest Diwali Festival. Tickets are priced at $14 regular, $12 students/seniors/children from Tickets Tonight.

The Gitano singer from the Lavapiés district of Madrid, Spain is one of the great interpreters of classical flamenco song as well as an innovator and bridge-builder to other traditions. The BBC calls him "flamenco royalty," and his richly emotive voice has captured the hearts of millions around the world.
