Transportation & Maps
Nimpo Lake is located on Highway 20 just a 15-minute drive east of Anahim Lake and 300km/186mi west of Williams Lake. Travel options include driving and flying by floatplane or with Pacific Coastal Airlines.
For those traveling by car, rentals are not available in Nimpo Lake, but are found in nearby Williams Lake. RV travelers can find rental operators in Vancouver, Prince George, Kelowna, or Kamloops. Great campgrounds line Highway 20, which is also an incredibly scenic drive.
Winter road conditions can be slippery. Vehicles should be equipped with good winter tires, or chains if planning on driving to Heckman Pass. Nimpo Lake is located in a remote region of British Columbia and traffic on Highway 20 in winter can be quite sparse. An emergency winter travel kit is important in case of a vehicle breakdown.
Several floatplane companies offer charter service from Nimpo Lake to nearby lakes. Pacific Coastal Airlines offers regular scheduled flights from Vancouver to Anahim Lake Airport. Anahim Lake Airport is open year round, and provides both Jet A and AV Gas fuel to private aircraft flyers. There is no cost to land at the airport.
