With close to 100 restaurants, the New Westminster dining scene is as diverse as it's delicious.
And that's hardly a surprise in the "Royal City," where 28 ethnicities and 50-plus languages are represented. Mostly, the vibe is casual and hearty.
Head uptown to Sixth Avenue's "Restaurant Row" and chow down on savoury German, Italian, Greek, and neighbourhood Canadian pub fare. Over on Twelfth Avenue, eclectic ethnic eateries dominate with Mexican, Japanese, and Mediterranean dishes. Downtown, near Westminster Quay on the Fraser River, there's a solid range of burgers, pasta, pizza, steaks, and other mainstream offerings. A few restaurants feature dancing or live music, like The Heritage Grill (447 Columbia St.).
