Art Galleries & Artists
Glass artwork (Danielle Hayes photo)
Naramata supports a vibrant arts community.
Artists and artisans invite visitors into their studios, galleries and retail shops to see work in progress and to view paintings, sculpture, pottery, jewelry, glasswork and natural fabric clothing designs.
Artists' Inspiration
Subjects, motifs and products are often inspired by Naramata's natural surroundings, the towering clay cliffs, Okanagan Lake's blue waters, fruit blossoms, grape vines, forested mountains and wildlife.
Pottery Master Class
Stop by the pottery studio of James Hibbert and prepare for a master class in the production of raku, saggarware and medium and high temperature stoneware. Hibbert, who has spent a lifetime immersed in his art and readily embraced new techniques and technologies over the years, enthusiastically explains as much or as little as visitors want to hear.

Studios & Galleries
Larry Porteous got carried away with his retirement project. Drop in to his glass art studio in the heart of the village for a look at wine bottle platters, mosaic bowls, jewelry, wind chimes and stepping stones.
Watercolour fans look for Canadian landscapes at Hazel Clark Watercolour Studio.
Artful B&Bs
B&B Unique is the home of Art Studio and Gallery: Unique. Tour the sculpture garden featuring the stonework of Petronella van den Berg. More of her stone sculptures are on display in the gallery along with paintings by other select local artists.
For art featuring local flora and fauna, visit Alpenview Naramata Art Studio, while Cormier's Studio Gallery and Sculpture Garden showcases Lawrence's metal sculpture and Kena's mixed media work. Both Alpenview and Cormier's are also bed and breakfasts.
Surprising Finds
Discover the works of local artists in some unexpected places. Naramata's sleepy village centre is hardly a top-of-mind place to look for designer natural fabric clothing. Yet Shades of Linen stocks a range of fashions designed for women and men and made right on site.
Vineyard Galleries
Sample a bold red wine and check out the vineyard sculpture scene. Red Rooster Winery provides tasters with a full-on visual experience both outdoors and in. The controversial sculpture, "Frank the Baggage Handler", by Michael Hermesh, is the centrepiece of the permanent collection while two indoor galleries host new exhibitions by local artists each month. The winery handles their work commission free.
Artists of the South Okanagan Similkameen claim pride of place at Holman Lang Wineries for half of the year while the Naramata Artists Studio show their works during the other half.
Naramata Community Market
Check out the locally made crafts at the Naramata Community Market, Wednesdays from 4pm to 7pm from June through September at Wharf Park.
