Every year on March 17th, the Vernon Community Arts Centre holds its annual, Empty Bowl Fundraiser. This is a unique event where handmade bowls are sold with a healthy serving of homemade Irish stew for just $20. The idea is that patrons can pick out their favourite bowl, have lunch, and then take their new bowl home.

Be sure to have a peek at the bowls during the month of March - they will be on display in our lobby, but, they will not be on sale until we open our doors at 12 noon, the day of the event!

So come and feast your eyes upon that perfect bowl! First come, first served.

The 45-piece BC Cadet Honour Band is the pinnacle of achievement for cadet musicians, who have worked years to achieve a high level of performance. Many are multi-talented, playing several instruments or adding vocals to the concert.

The competition to be part of the band is fierce and the experience is intense. Musicians learn a concert's worth of music in just three days and then tour the province performing each night in four different cities.

Featuring music from Disney's Frozen and The Hunger Games as well as a selection of military marches and a special Pipes & Drums performance, this one-night only, free performance by B.C.'s best cadet musicians should not be missed.
