Cross-Country Skiing
Cross-Country skiing (Dave Heath photo)
As soon as the first snowfall settles on the hills surrounding Logan Lake, the local cross-country ski club transforms the landscape into a network of trails.
Cross-country ski routes are suited to various skill levels, and range from groomed and marked trails to backcountry wilderness trails. Floodlights located on several hills make night skiing possible.
Logan Lake Ski Trail System
The Logan Lake Ski Trail System begins in the community – at the end of Chartrand Ave - and extends out into the surrounding wilderness. Trails are groomed for both classic and skating techniques. The ski season usually starts in the first week of December and continues through March. The Loop is a 2km/1.2mi lighted section of a 36km/23mi track set trail on the upper slopes of Logan Lake. To reach The Loop follow residential signs.

Stake Lake
Midway between Kamloops and Logan Lake, off the Coquihalla Highway, are the trails around Stake Lake. It is the region's largest groomed classic and skating facility with a 45km/28mi trail network. Shelters are provided on longer trails. All trails are maintained in co-operation with BC Parks and BC Forest Service.
Kane Valley
The turnoff to Kane Valley Ski Trails is 20 minutes south of Merritt, near Corbett Lake. Kane Valley Ski Trails total 50km/31mi in length, 40km/24mi of which are groomed for cross-country skiing by the Nicola Nordic Ski Club. There are plenty of single-track trails, and some double track and skating lanes. Trails range from easy to difficult. Dogs are permitted on several trails.
Stop by the Logan Lake Visitor Centre for more information about cross-country skiing in the area.
