Fishing options in Logan Lake include casting a line in Logan Lake itself, taking a day trip to one of 30 nearby lakes, or spending a pampered weekend at a fishing lodge.
Tunkwa Lake
Tunkwa Lake, host of the 1993 world fly-fishing championship, abounds with Kamloops rainbow trout, a much sought-after strain of rainbow trout. The lake is 1135m/3723ft in length and surrounded by grassland fields, wetland marshes, a spawning river, bogs, and a forested area. Annually stocked, it is one of the most popular fishing spots in Logan Lake. Tunkwa is also good for ice-fishing. On the edge of the lake, Tunkwa Lake Lodge has two log houses and 25 campsites.

Leighton Lake and Face Lake
Try fly-fishing or trolling for trout at Leighton Lake in Tunkwa Provincial Park, or Face Lake. Mile High Resort on Face Lake has cabins, RV facilities, and campgrounds. Canoe, kayak, aluminum boat and motor, wooden rowboat, and paddleboat rentals are also available.
Nicola Lake
Logan Lake is within easy driving distance to Nicola Lake, the largest lake in the Thompson Okanagan region, home to 26 species of fish. The 22km/13.5mi long lake has a maximum depth of 55m/180ft, which means during the hot summer some fish head down to cooler temperatures. Trolling lures, flatfish, wedding bands, and spinning gear are the most popular methods used at Nicola Lake. However, flies are also successful. Boat launching areas are spread out along both sides of the lake.
Contact the Logan Lake Visitor Centre for a complete list of fishing spots in the area. Note that all fishers 16-years-old and over, residents and non-residents, require a license to fish. Licenses are available on the BC government website.
