Logan Lake has a variety of outdoor activity options.
These include ATV riding at Tunkwa Lake Provincial Park, golfing at Meadow Creek Golf Club, fishing at one the area's many lakes, or cross-country skiing at the Logan Lake Ski Trail System. In addition, the town's close proximity to other Thompson Okanagan communities creates access to incredible hiking, mountain biking, and even fossil hunting.
Take a walk around Logan Lake (the actual lake) on a combined paved and hard-dirt trail. Travel out to Sagebrush Golf and Sporting Club or Merritt Golf and Sporting Club for a day of golfing. Hook a Kamloops Rainbow Trout at Tunkwa Lake, or fish the area's other 25 plus lakes all within a 45-minute drive from town. Rev up the ATV and head out to the numerous trails at the Tunkwa Lake Provincial Park staging area.
Cross-country ski the 36km/23mi track set trails on the upper slopes of Logan Lake, including a 2km/1.2mi lighted night-skiing section just above town. For wilderness cross-country skiing, head out to Stake Lake between Kamloops and Logan Lake, or the Kane Valley north of Merritt along Highway 97C.
Festivals and Events
Attend one of the many festivals that take place during the year in Logan Lake. The Polar Carnival in January begins with a "Polarathon race" and ends with a pond hockey tournament on Logan Lake, where Logan Lake takes on other communities.
Lobsterfest is held on the Saturday immediately prior to the May Long Weekend, and same-day ships some 700 live lobsters flown in from Halifax, Nova Scotia. The Little Britches Rodeo, held in either June or July, is for children ages three to 14. Events include goat tail tying, goat tying, calf roping, barrel racing, as well as pole bending and stake races.
Logan Lake is just minutes from Merritt and the annual Merritt Mountain Music Festival, which draws thousands of country music lovers to the area in mid-summer.
