Things to Do
Scenic orchard in Lake Country (Destination BC photo)
The freshwater lakes, hiking trails, vineyards, fruit stands and thriving arts and culture scene offers visitors a chance to experience the laid-back lifestyle of Lake Country. Relax by the beach with a book or hike the trails of Spion Kop overlooking the lakes and orchards of the region.
The seasonally warm summers in Lake Country make water activities a natural fit. The clear waters of Okanagan, Kalamalka and Wood lakes are great for boating, swimming, waterskiing and kiteboarding. The deep clear mountain lakes just outside of the town centre, including Beaver Lake, Deer Lake, and Oyama Lake all offer great opportunities for fishing, paddleboarding, canoeing and kayaking. Rentals, gear and lessons are all available from SECA Marina, located in the town centre.
Vineyards and Fruit Stands
Lake Country is known for fertile agricultural land, making it an ideal location for orchards and vineyards. Claiming the title of Apple Capital of Canada, this area is responsible for growing 35% of all Canada’s apples.
