The Victoria Day weekend has been celebrated in Kaslo with a three day festival for 120 years. The highlight of this celebration is the annual May Pole Dance performed by the 1st graders of Kaslo. Kaslo is home to the longest consecutive annual Maypole Dance in North America. Logger Sports Competition, Sk8Park Demonstration, Show N Shine Antique Car Show, horse show and Slo-Pitch ball tournament. Artists, craftsmen, musicians and performers are featured in Vimy Park throughout the weekend. The annual May Days Parade on Monday tops off the celebration.

The 72nd annual installment of the festival includes a concert of the Friday night, a parade on Saturday, midway, car show, street fair and children's events all weekend.

The festival takes place in downtown Creston and at the Community Complex.

This annual event takes place on the Monday of the Kaslo May Days Celebration. Visit the Front Street Park from 9:00 am-3:00 pm to enjoy a variety of activities. Purchase locally grown plants and seeds, browse among the unusual and exciting garden features created by local artisans and take advantage of free workshops highlighting organic gardening practices, bear friendly composting and controlling invasive plants. This festival is a must see for all gardening enthusiasts.

The Cottonwood Falls Market is located next to the Japanese garden, and you'll be sure to see and hear the rush of Cottonwood Falls. Passers-by relax on the lush grass beside the creek. The market itself features an array of different vendors and products, and the performances of local musicians. The market is only a short walk from Baker Street and Nelson's downtown. The atmosphere is always relaxed and the air always fresh at Cottonwood Falls Market.

Castlegar Sunfest is held annually on the first weekend of June and the goal of the organizing committee is to stage events and provide entertainment suitable for people of all ages. The weekend begins with a fundraising BBQ on Friday at noon. The Festival in the Park opens in Kinsman Park, on hand are dozens of food and merchandise vendors and a variety of activities and entertainment to keep everyone in a great mood. The Miss Castlegar Pagean also takes place on Friday evening in the Stanley Humphries Secondary School theatre.

A community celebration which begins on May 31 with a Community Tea from 1 - 3 pm in the Warfield Community Hall. June 1st starts with a Pancake Breakfast - cooked by KSCU staff; then activities, races, music, food vendors in the Village Square Park, ending with the day with a steak dinner.
