Baker Hill is a heritage residential area dating from 1898, while the downtown core and the railway heritage infrastructure area provide additional experiences in local history. Tours, with a pre-planned route, can be started from the Canadian Museum of Rail Travel, or you can plan your own itinerary

Every fall the Windermere Community Association hosts the Fall Fair & Scarecrow Festival. This year is the 14th annual. Events include judged entries of flowers, vegetables, fruit, baking, canning & photography. Craft demonstrations & display booths cover the school grounds adjacent to the hall & include blacksmithing, quilting, bent willow furniture making, wood carving, interesting foods & jewellery. This is a family day with lots of events for the kids, such as races, face painting, fish tank, clowns, the Windermere Fire Department, the egg catapult & dog shows. Great food is served all day. This fantastic race is in a gorgeous and welcoming community. The route traverses bluffs overlooking the Columbia River Wetlands and travels a great trail system along the Old Coach Trail, set up by the Columbia River Greenways Alliance. It combines back road running with exciting single-track, and amazing scenery to provide a great trail running experience.

Runners will find the 12 km course rewarding, and the family-friendly 3 km run/walk (not part of TREKSeries) will again continue this year through the beautiful Sinclair Creek Trails.
