The Annual Kootenay Lake Fall Fair has many family activities, judged exhibits, market, crafts, music & entertainment for the whole family. 102nd Annual! A yearly event and one of the oldest fairs in the province. It was an amazing event last year with, raffle baskets, outside activities, tea, games for the kids, live music and also a "Best Of.." taste testing. Last year it was the Best Chocolate Chip Cookie and the Best Pesto!

Every fall the Windermere Community Association hosts the Fall Fair & Scarecrow Festival. This year is the 13th annual. Events include judged entries of flowers, vegetables, fruit, baking, canning & photography. Craft demonstrations & display booths cover the school ground adjacent to the hall & include blacksmithing, quilting, bent willow furniture making, wood carving, interesting foods & jewellery. This is a family day with lots of events for the kids, such as races, face painting, fish tank, clowns, the Windermere Fire Department, the egg catapult & dog shows. Great food is served all day. Come & enjoy the 24th annual Columbia Valley Classic Car Show, with participants arriving from all over BC, Alberta & the States. It's a huge event with over 800 antique cars & trucks participating. The display is at the Springs Golf Course, where hundreds of spectators come out to view the vehicles. Then, the cars do a road cruise at approximately 4:00 pm on Saturday from Radium to Invermere.

The festival returns to downtown Proctor with many of the storytellers from the past returning. The list includes Joshua Klassen, East Shore historian Susan Hulland, Barry Gray and Ktunaxa teller, Joe Pierre as well as Gunpowder Gertie's creator Carolyn McTaggart and Doukhobor teller.
Sunday's festivities will travel to the 300 block of Baker Street, Nelson (between Kootenay and Stanley). There will be a stage, free music and stories, a Children's activity tent, a First Nations camp and, of course, our storytelling venues: The Royal Hotel (an adults only site), The Kootenay Exchange and The Vienna Café.
