Step back in time at railway museums, abandoned ghost towns, and historic gold rush sites in the Kootenay Rockies.

Stop by an interpretive centre to pore over artifacts showcasing Aboriginal and Doukhobor cultures.

Take the kids to see an enchanted forest with folk figurines near Revelstoke, or wander through an 1890s gold rush town near Cranbrook. Railway fans can get up-close to carefully restored historic trains at museums in Revelstoke and Cranbrook.

After a day of exploring, unwind in a natural mineral hot spring or on a quiet park path in a national or provincial park.
