Several hotels and motels popular with the fishing crowd are located in the heart of downtown, close to the mall, shops and restaurants.
A few bed and breakfasts, lodges, marinas with moorage for rent, and some campgrounds are scattered throughout more residential neighbourhoods and remote areas of Kitimat.
Lodges and B&Bs
For a more intimate atmosphere choose one of the area's lodges or bed and breakfasts. These accommodations are a little pricier and not as central, but generally are much more cozy and private.
While most of the lodges and B&Bs include general amenities, each place offers distinct features, such as Jacuzzis, extra-large rooms, or freezers for those prized catches from fishing expeditions.
Campers have two main grounds to choose from. One is located on the Kitimat River just after the city centre. Most sites are fit with electricity for RVs.
There is also a campground that is more popular for self-sufficient tenters, as well as with picnickers in the daytime. The site is located a little outside of town; the turnoff is before the Kitimat Visitor Centre. A couple of lodges in town also accommodate RVs.
