Snowshoeing (Canadian Tourism Commission photo)
Snowshoeing is one of North America's fastest growing sports, and Kimberley Alpine Resort is an idyllic place to try it.
The resort does not offer set trails, but there are a number of tours available for shoers of all levels.
On the Mountain Descent tour, snowshoers ride the chair up in the late afternoon and enjoy a memorable descent along trails and through trees back to the base area. During the Kootenay Fondue Experience, shoers take a brisk mountaintop tour, then indulge in a decadent chocolate fondue before taking the chairlift back down the mountain.
