Après ski at Kimberley Alpine Resort, it's a case of either stay up on the hill to dine or head downtown, and they couldn't be more different

Dining on the Mountain

Kelsey's Bar & Grill has a menu that is both huge and family friendly. Open for lunch and dinner, Kelsey's is in the Trickle Creek Lodge. Reservations are recommended for larger groups.

Stemwinder Bar & Grill is another popular après ski venue, with live music on weekends. The Slopeside Cafe serves snacks and lunches at the base of the Polaris Lodge.

Downtown Kimberley Restaurants

The Bavarian illusion is not as perfect as it could be, but strolling through downtown Kimberley certainly evokes the right culinary images. Several restaurants along the pedestrian Spokane Street offer old world flavours that go with the fancy shutters.

European Influence

One of the most interesting European establishments is not downtown, but on the road up to the resort. The Old Bauernhaus is a converted barn that was built in 1650 in Passau, Germany. In 1987, the building was dismantled and shipped to Kimberley BC, where it was painstakingly reconstructed in its present location near the resort. It retained a certain atmosphere - and the restaurant serves up good food to go with it.

Best bets in town are the Green Phoenix for lunch or dinner, and the Village Bistro for fine dining. Both are located Downtown on Spokane Street.
