Kimberley Trail Society & friends would like to invite you to be part of the Round the Mountain Festival. Our event on Saturday June 22nd, 2013 will showcase beautiful Kimberley and it's network of trails. The festival will attract hikers, trail runners and mountain bikers participating in several 20 km challenges around North Star Mountain, starting and finishing at the Nordic Centre. Kid's races, music, food and drinks will provide fun and entertainment for everyone.

Live theatre Tuesday to Saturday. There will be two shows: an adult comedy Self Help at Centre 64 and The Wizard of Oz for the whole family at the McKim Theatre (Aug 3-9 and 12-14 at 7:30 pm). Self Help (July 9-27 at 7:30 pm; July 10,13, 17, 20, 24, 27 at 2:00 pm) is for an adult audience and tickets are $23. Tickets for Oz are $23, children 3-12 years $13.

The Canadian National Cycling Championship downhill mountain bike race returns to Panorama on July 13 & 14. Watch the best riders compete to be crowned #1 in Canada in this white-knuckle-adrenaline-fanatic-super-intense sport. There are tons of great viewing sports for fans along the course that will get you close to the action. If you want to have the ultimate spectator experience volunteer as a course marshall.

Registration begins at 7:15 am at the start area, Swan Avenue entrance to Kimberley Nature Park. Cost $5 adult; kids $2. Five & 10 km courses, open women & men classes, 1 km kids race.

The Rocky Mountain Wakesurfing Association is pleased to announce the second annual event of its kind in Canada. Held at Lake Koocanusa, the Wakesurfing Challenge will see the world's best wakesurfers demonstrating their skills behind a beautiful Centurion Enzo 244. Along with the competition, there will be numerous events, demos and activities, food and retail vendors.

A celebration of all the arts, from performing to visual to culinary. There will be concerts, both indoor & outdoor, juried art exhibits, wine & food tasting, music & theatre performances and an arts & artisans market in the Platzl.

Brand new mountain biking event provides spectacular riding in the Kimberley Nature Park and Nordic Centre. Field is limited to 150 adults (22 km or 44 km solo, relay team of 2) and 100 youth.

New for Panorama this summer is the Grizzly Ultra Race. On August 31, mountain bikers will challenge an enduro style race and on Sunday September 1, runners can compete in an ultra trail-run race. In both the biking and the running events, racers can choose if they want to do the whole 36 km (22 mi) course solo or split it amongst a team of up to 5 people. The $250 team fee is the same regardless of team size and the solo fee is $80. In the relay categories, awards will be presented in three classes; male, female, mixed.
