In winter, take the kids skating or tobogganing, followed by dinner in an igloo.
Golfing, hiking and mounatin biking are great ways to enjoy summer.
Lace 'em up for ice skating at a number of rinks around town or choose a snow-covered hill and take the kids tobogganing.
Snowmobiling
Rev up the engine with a Kimberley Snowmobile Adventures snowmobile tour. Packages include machine rental, professonal guiding, snowsuits, boots, helmet and gloves.
Dine in an Igloo
Enjoy a cozy dinner – in an igloo! Spirit Trail Adventures provides the salmon feast and the ice house; just bring an appetite and warm clothing. Spirit Trail Lodge is located about half an hour north of Kimberley.
Nordic Skiing
Work up an appetite while cross country skiing at the Kimberley Nordic Centre, just south of Kimberley Alpine Resort. Rent a pair of snowshoes and escape to the quiet beauty of the Kimberley Nature Park.
Summer Activities
Play a round of golf at the highly acclaimed Trickle Creek Golf Course. For a fabulous sightseeing experience, catch the North Star Express chair up the front of the mountain. It operates Friday and Saturday.
Festivals and Special Events
Kimberley Alpine Resort presents its Family Festival in mid-February. A long list of events includes ski races, snow sculpting, skating and karaoke. On an entirely different note, kids likely won't be involved in the Beer Festival at the resort in mid-March. Celebrate Kimberley's preoccupation with all things Bavarian with Beer and Brats – and there's even a polka party.
The season wraps up in early April with the Spring Splash, a weekend that typically includes crazy fun and games, sunshine, and live music.
For more information on things to do, contact the Kimberley Visitor Centre, located downtown, just east of the Platzl.
