Park in BC (JF Bergeron photo)
Knox Mountain Park and Mission Creek Regional Park are two popular city parks in Kelowna that preserve green space within the urban environment.
Kelowna also has three provincial parks (Okanagan Mountain Provincial Park, Bear Creek Provincial Park and Myra-Bellevue Provincial Park) that provide year-round outdoor recreational opportunities, such as hiking, wilderness viewing, boating, fishing, swimming, cycling, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Camping is available at two parks, while Myra-Bellevue Provincial Park is day-use only.
Knox Mountain Park
Knox Mountain Park is a treasure in the heart of Kelowna and has several lookout points with an unparalleled view of the city. Drive to the mountain's summit, or hike the park's many trails, including the boardwalk in the Rotary Marshes where waterfowl nest in the wetlands and osprey nest on a tower platform every summer. Find a secluded picnic spot and keep an eye out for deer. In spring the flanks of the mountain are painted yellow and white with the blossoms of arrowleaf balsamroot and Saskatoon berries.
