In Kelowna, Kasugai Gardens and Elysium Garden-Nursery are perfect for peaceful afternoon retreats.

Kasugai Gardens includes a Koi pond, stone garden and waterfall, while Elysium Garden-Nursery has 4ac/1.6ha of colourful perennial display gardens.

The city's public parks and nearby provincial parks (many of which are located along the shores of Okanagan Lake) are alive with numerous recreational activities, such as boating and fishing.

Kasugai Gardens

Retreat to the peaceful enclave of Kasugai Gardens in Kelowna's busy Cultural District. Dedicated to Kelowna's sister city, Kasugai, Japan, this compact walled enclosure includes a tiny forest, stone Zen garden, streams, waterfall, bridges, tea garden, and a population of colourful Koi in the lily pond. Locals often escape here with a book or bag lunch.

Elysium Garden-Nursery

A family labour of love, Elysium Garden-Nursery is located in Kelowna's Belgo neighbourhood. The former apple orchard retains rows of old trees interspersed with perennial beds in formal and informal arrangements. Stroll beneath the apple blossom bower in spring and smell the lavender in summer. Wander among beds of tulips, peonies, lilies, irises and roses. Check the nameplates to identify dozens more flowers and shrubs in the herb garden and drought resistant native plant species in the xeriscape area.
