In the Windermere Valley, golf is more than mere recreation – it's a way of life. There are no less than nine 18-hole and six 9-hole courses clustered near Invermere in this small corner of the Kootenay Rockies.
Greywolf at Panorama
Designed by architect Doug Carrick, Greywolf Golf Course has received many accolades since it opened in 1999. In 2005, the "Cliffhanger" won Canadian Golf website, Score Golf's "Golfer's Choice" award for the best par 3 hole in British Columbia. Golf Digest ranks this course in the top 10 in Canada and in the top 100 outside of the US.
Built right next to the Panorama Mountain Village ski hill, Greywolf's alpine setting is simply amazing. Looking as though it has been literally carved out of the mountainside, the course has an elevation differential of 122m/400ft between the highest and lowest points.

Eagle Ranch
Located just north of town, Eagle Ranch Golf Resort offers a championship 18-hole course that makes its way through bluffs and canyons, with some challenging ravines along the way. Golf Digest gives the course a 4 1/2 star rating. Post-game refreshments are served at the clubhouse, which sits high above the town of Invermere, come with spectacular views of Windermere Lake and the entire valley.
Fairmont Hot Springs
The resort at Fairmont Hot Springs is a golf destination in itself. There are two full 18-hole courses, the Mountainside and the Riverside, and the par-three 9-hole Creekside course.
Canada's "Golf Course of the Year" in 1998, Fairmont's Riverside is considered to be an excellent walking course. The Mountainside course is best known for the 600-yard fourth hole, affectionately known as the "Fairmonster".
Radium Resort
The small village of Radium Hot Springs also boasts two fine 18-hole courses. The Resort Course, which is built against the western slope of the Rockies, has been there for more than half a century. The newer Springs Course, designed by Les Furber, is consistently ranked among Canada's top 100 courses.
