Dining
Invermere is both the commercial hub and the culinary centre of the Windermere Valley.
The town, which can more than double in population during the summer months, is geared to taking care of visitors and has some fine restaurants.
Strand's Old House Restaurant has been nourishing visitors in a grand old heritage home for decades. Tables are available both within the house and on the enclosed porch, with outside patio tables available during the summer.
The extensive menu offers lots of choice while focusing on local ingredients. The "early bird" specials are excellent value, especially for families. Strand's is located just a block from downtown at 818 12th Street. Reservations are advisable in peak seasons.

For a more casual dining experience, and live music from Thursday through Saturday, check out Angus McToogle's at the far end of Main Street.
Gerry's Gelati, owned by Invermere's mayor, is a small café offering some savoury items, but the main focus is the homemade Italian ice cream. Yum! For a caffeine fix, don't miss Kicking Horse Coffee close to the highway at the entrance to town.
For more information on eating out, contact the Invermere Visitor Centre.
