This 2nd annual East Kootenay Beer Festival is shaping up to be an incredible weekend for beer appreciation. Building on the reputation of the resort's successful East Kootenay Wine Festival, now entering its 12th year, locals, guests and staff demanded a unique Festival to celebrate the magic of hops!

The Festival itself will take place at Mountainside Golf Course on Saturday June 15, with live music, great food and of course, lots of beer to experience and taste. Full weekend packages will also include a gourmet beer-paired dinner on the evening of Friday June 14.

A fun-filled weekend with something for everyone to celebrate! Starting with PyneStock; a concert showcasing the talents of local musicians in a variety of genres. Then Bull Riding in the Rockies, an exciting evening of a cowboy supper, mutton bustin', professional bull riding and dance. Kicking off the Valley Appreciation Day is a pancake breakfast and continuing with live entertainment, Farmers Market and activities for the whole family. Finally, the Lake Windermere Regatta committed to ensuring that Lake Windermere remains a healthy, functioning ecosystem for future generations. The Regatta includes sailing, swimming and canoeing races; waterskiing and rowing demonstrations.

Every fall the Windermere Community Association hosts the Fall Fair & Scarecrow Festival. This year is the 13th annual. Events include judged entries of flowers, vegetables, fruit, baking, canning & photography. Craft demonstrations & display booths cover the school ground adjacent to the hall & include blacksmithing, quilting, bent willow furniture making, wood carving, interesting foods & jewellery. This is a family day with lots of events for the kids, such as races, face painting, fish tank, clowns, the Windermere Fire Department, the egg catapult & dog shows. Great food is served all day. Fairmont Hot Springs Resort is the place to be for the New Year's Eve, 'Monster Masquerade Ball' including party favours, music, dancing and a delicious festive buffet + a glass of bubbly at midnight.
