Transportation & Maps

Main access to visit Hudson's Hope is via highway routes from Chetwynd, Dawson Creek, and Fort St. John, or along a scenic driving route.

Drive to Hudson's Hope along winding roads, through the gently rolling valley, past ridges, wetlands and forested areas. From Fort St. John, enjoy a scenic drive to Hudson's Hope along Highway 29 (88km/55mi). Head north along the Alaska Highway, and turn left onto Hwy 29 at the Alaska Highway Mile 54 gas station.

From Chetwynd, drive 65km/40mi to Hudson's Hope, through characteristic boreal forests and along the south facing banks of Moberly Lake. Keep an eye out for some excellent camping areas including Cameron Lake and Dinosaur Lake at the Peace Canyon dam site. There's a great view of Peace Canyon Dam where the bridge crosses the Peace River.

Public Transportation and Air Service

Bus service and regional airports are located in nearby communities, Dawson Creek, Fort St. John, Prince George, and Grande Prairie in Alberta. Air service includes Central Mountain Air and Air Canada. Vehicle rentals from a number of companies are also available in these locations.

Getting around Hudson's Hope

This small community offers all necessary amenities within easy walking distance including the Visitor Centre, accommodations, dining, in-town attractions such as the museum, shopping, and services. Vehicle access is the best way to check out other attractions in the vicinity. Local lodge and tour operators also offer opportunities like boating.
