Sailboat (Canadian Tourism Commission photo)
Spend summer days exploring the Peace River country by jet boat.
There are three ideal locations for boating near Hudson's Hope: along the Peace River, up the Halfway River, and on Williston Lake.
Peace River
Feel the wind rushing by while zipping along the Peace River. There are great opportunities to spot various wildlife, including deer and bald eagles.
Stop off on one of the islands for a picnic lunch. Wide banks and water make this river an easy ride. Head up the Peace River's tributary, the Halfway River through a slightly more deeply carved landscape. Be sure to pay attention, as the Halfway River can have low water, log jams, and sweepers.
Williston Lake
Williston Lake is an enormous lake that offers ample space for boating and fishing opportunities.

Boat ramps on the Peace Reach of Williston Lake are located at Elizabeth Creek and at Dunlevy Inlet, and can be used when the water levels are high. There are many hazards on the reservoir, including snags and stumps below the surface, wind and waves, steep shorelines, and cold water. Boaters should take care and stay away from the dam area.
Stop by the Hudson's Hope Visitor Centre for more information about jet boating in the area.
