Camping options are available conveniently in town or in remote wilderness settings. Campsites open from May to September, with pets allowed on a leash and firewood available for a small fee.
Looking for RV camping with all the important amenities covered? Stay in town at King Gething Park (Hudson's Hope south entrance). Close to the grocery store, the campground features 15 sites with cooking boxes. Other campgrounds privately operated are Lynx Creek RV Park and Campground (6km/3.7mi north on Hwy 29), along the Peace River, and Dupont RV and Trailer Park (Fredette Ave. and Kyllo St.).
Alwin Holland Regional Park
Choose a scenic riverside option at Alwin Holland Regional Park (3km/2mi south on Hwy 29). The campground offers 12 sites, outhouses, and cooking boxes. The park is named for the Hudson's Hope's first teacher. This site is perfect for picnicking, sketching, photography, and fishing.
Cameron Lake Campground
Cameron Lake municipal campground (24km/15mi south of Hudson's Hope on Hwy 29) is set along the shores of Cameron Lake, a chain of small lakes with adjoining wetlands. There are 20 sites, outhouses, firepits, and a playground. Take a dip in the relatively warm waters during the summer, or paddle along this peaceful lake without interruption, as motorized boating is not permitted.
Dinosaur Lake Campground
Take in the scenic beauty of Dinosaur Lake at the Dinosaur Lake municipal campground. Drive 7km/4mi south of Hudson's Hope on Highway 29 turn right and follow the signs. The lake is great for a variety of activities including hiking, fishing, jet boating, sailing, and canoeing. The campground has 50 sites, water pump, outhouses, and fire rings.
Carbon Lake Recreation Site
Take a few days to camp at the rustic Carbon Lake Recreation Site. There are just a few campsites and a pit toilet. Drive to the W.A.C. Bennett Dam, cross the dam, and follow the road. Keep to the left along the West Utah/Table Creek Road. Turn right at the main T-intersection onto the Johnson Creek Forest Service Road and drive for another 28km/17.4mi.
