Location and Geography
Hudson's Hope is located on a terrace of the Peace River in the heart of Peace River country. The plains landscape quickly gives way to the Rocky Mountain foothills and the northern Rocky Mountains. The geology of the Peace River Canyon formed an ideal location to build a dam, which resulted in construction of the W.A.C. Bennett Dam. Fort St. John and Chetwynd are the nearest communities, and Prince George is the large centre.
