A variety of accommodations serve Fort St. James, many of which are waterfront properties on Stuart Lake.
Motels, cabin rentals with lake views, and campgrounds are available in and around Fort St. James.
Farther from town, travellers can also stay at more upscale fishing lodges; make sure to book ahead.
Choose from several campgrounds: Most are just a few minutes drive from town or a boat ride down the lake. Two of the more popular campgrounds are in Paarens Beach and Sowchea Bay provincial parks. Both have boat launches and picnic areas. All of the sites at Sowchea Bay look onto the water, and are therefore especially sought during the summer.
