Alaska Highway Eats
Don't forget about the lodges and stops along the Alaska Highway. Pink Mountain, south of Fort Nelson, has a couple of eateries and a convenience store for a quick snack or lunch along the way. There are also stops at Sikanni and Buckinghorse. North of Fort Nelson, great places to eat are found at Toad River, Muncho Lake and Liard River Hot Springs. The best cinnamon buns in the north are reported at Tetsa River Lodge, "the cinnamon bun center of the galactic cluster."
