Alpine hiking enthusiasts have fallen under the spell woven by Fernie Alpine Resort's Rocky Mountain magic.
Lift-access routes allow hikers to meander through high alpine trails, past meadows and forests that open to mythical views overlooking Elk Valley.
During weekends in the summer, there are guided, interpretive hikes that cover such natural subjects as: bushes and berries; geology and fossils; forest and fauna; as well as alpine wildflowers.
There are also popular hiking routes throughout the district surrounding Fernie. Check with the Fernie Visitor Centre for more information.
