Incredible mountain biking is easily accessed via Fernie Alpine Resort's high speed chairlifts.
As well, the area surrounding the resort is criss-crossed with numerous trails that accommodate a range of skill levels.
Fernie Alpine Resort
From the end of June through Labour Day, Fernie Alpine Resort's acclaimed mountain bike park is open for business. For the cost of a lift ticket, riders gain access to a range of trails, including cross-country, downhill, singletrack, and dual slalom. The resort sponsors races in July and August. Also, bike camps and skill clinics, some specifically for women are also featured.

Outside of the resort, volunteers maintain trails, which means some are in great shape, while others are a bit rough. Check in with one of the local bike shops for a trail map and up-to-date information.
Fernie's valley location means an extensive variety of terrain suited all skill levels. Across the tracks by the aquatic centre, Ridgemont is the hub for dozens of singletrack trails such as the blue-rated "Kid's Stuff," the green-rated "Coal Creek Heritage Trail," and the black-rated "Hessian."
