Fernie Alpine Resort is a 1,013ha/2,503ac deep-powder playground of diverse terrain, which makes for exhilarating downhill skiing and snowboarding.
Choose from 142 runs suited to all levels of skill and experience.
Take a brief break from the deep and steep to pursue numerous other outdoor activities available both at the resort and in the surrounding area year round. As a full-service resort, Fernie Alpine Resort also features great dining, nightlife, shopping, and accommodation.
Winter Activities
While Fernie Alpine Resort is legendary for downhill skiing and snowboarding, exciting winter activities do not stop there: Experience the thrill of first tracks with one of the Fernie area's three cat-skiing operators; cross-country ski at the resort or on the snow-covered greens of the local golf course; take a Mountain Heritage Snowshoe Tour or a dogsledding tour; or try out snowmobile trails in the Elk Valley.

Summer Activities
Access the mountain bike park at Fernie Alpine Resort via chairlift, or traverse the extensive trail network in the Elk Valley. Hikers can also use the resort's chairlift service to reach high alpine areas. For a more leisurely stroll, purchase a copy of Fernie's self-directed Heritage Walking Tour guide and set out to learn more about the town's extensive inventory of heritage buildings. Guided rafting and fishing on the Elk River are also options.
Festivals
Celebrate the joys of winter at Griz Days, Fernie's three-day festival in early March. Events include a parade, pancake breakfast, and much more.
End the season with Fernival and Slopesoaker, a one-day festival of spring madness, including tug-of-war, snow volleyball, scavenger hunts, and major musical acts. Look for Fernival during the balmy month of April.
Tune up the mountain bike for the TransRockies Challenge or the Full Throttle Mountain Bike Festival. Catch both events in August.
