Rail trips to Whistler are less about getting from A to B than they are opportunities to relax, sit back and enjoy some of the world's most breathtaking scenery.

The Whistler Mountaineer

The Whistler Mountaineer is a three-hour, 118-km (73 mi) sightseeing train trip between Vancouver and the resort town of Whistler. As you snake along the famous Sea-to-Sky corridor (Highway 99), you'll enjoy stunning views of Howe Sound, Squamish and Cheakamus Canyon before you reach your destination. Make this a return day trip or extend your adventure through the Rockies by transferring to the Rocky Mountaineer (Fraser Discovery Route), a two-day, all daylight journey between Whistler and Jasper, Alberta.

The Rocky Mountaineer

The Rocky Mountaineer is a two-day, sightseeing train trip along one of three routes: Whistler-Jasper, Alberta; Vancouver-Banff, Alberta or Calgary, Alberta; or Vancouver-Jasper, Alberta. Named World's Leading Travel Experience by Train at the 2005 World Travel Awards, The Rocky Mountaineer is a spectacularly scenic route that features canyons, mountain ranges, glacial lakes, turbulent rivers and waterfalls. The trip really is all about sightseeing: travelling speed averages just 50 kph (30 mph) and the train moves even more slowly through particularly scenic areas.
