On Vancouver Island, bus travel is concentrated mainly along the heavily populated east coast. Highway 1 runs north from Victoria as far as Nanaimo; Highway 19 runs through central and northern cities and towns; and Highway 4 extends west through Port Alberni to Tofino and Ucluelet on the rugged and largely uninhabited west coast.
Several sightseeing tour operators offer fully narrated trips and holiday packages between Vancouver and Victoria or Tofino/Ucluelet, via BC Ferries.
