Air Travel

spacer

Air travel is the quickest and easiest way to reach the island city of Victoria, whether you're flying in from overseas or just hopping across the Strait of Georgia from Vancouver. A busy international airport operates 30 minutes away, while seaplanes and helicopters fly into the heart of the city. Vancouver-Victoria seaplane or helicopter flights are popular as they lift passengers right out of one downtown core and put them down directly into the other. The height of convenience, they allow you to begin shopping or sightseeing within minutes of stepping off the plane.

Victoria International Airport

Victoria International Airport (YYJ) is the major air hub on Vancouver Island. International flights to Victoria usually connect through Vancouver International Airport(YVR) or Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) in Washington State. Victoria International Airport services non-stop flights to most major centres in western Canada and connecting flights to cities throughout North America. It's located near the town of Sidney, just 30 minutes from Victoria.

Downtown Victoria

Floatplane and helicopter services to Victoria are available from both downtown Vancouver and Seattle, Washington. Floatplanes arrive at Victoria's Inner Harbour, within easy walking distance of hotels, shops, museums, restaurants and the provincial Legislative Buildings. Helicopters set down and pick up from Ogden Point, a few minutes outside the downtown core. Several carriers offer complimentary shuttle bus services to major hotels from the Heliport.
