Sicamous is located on the Trans-Canada Highway/Highway 1 midway between Vancouver, 494km/307mi west, and Calgary, Alberta 482km/300mi east. Highway 97A connects Sicamous with the Okanagan Valley to the south.
Car Travel While Sicamous itself is compact and easily walkable, many outdoor recreational activities and provincial parks located beyond the village require car travel. Main roadways are paved, but backcountry off-roading requires four-wheel drive vehicles, equipped with winter tires in the season. Car rentals are not available in Sicamous, but are found in Salmon Arm, 31.4km/19.5mi northeast.
Bus ServiceGreyhound Canada buses stop in Sicamous and provide multiple daily connections with Vancouver and Calgary, as well as regional centres.
Air Travel Kelowna International Airport (114km/70.8mi south of Sicamous) offers multiple daily flights to and from Vancouver, Victoria, Calgary, Edmonton and Seattle, Washington, plus to other regional airports. Airlines include Air Canada, Central Mountain Air, Horizon Air and Westjet. Charters are also available.
