Lillooet is a border community joining British Columbia's Cariboo Chilcotin Coast and Vancouver Coastal Mountains regions. The community has excellent paved access to the interior of the province as well as to all points south. It is an entrance to the Sea to Sky corridor. While most visitors to Lillooet travel by car, rail travel, air travel, and public transportation are also options.

Car Travel

Lillooet is just 31km/81mi from Whistler along scenic Highway 99, also known as Duffy Lake Road, providing convenient road access from Lillooet to the site of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter GamesCache Creek is 90km/55mi farther along Highway 99, northeast of Lillooet.  Centrally located, Lillooet also offers paved access south to Lytton and the Trans-Canada Highway via Highway 12 (64km/40mi), and west to Gold Bridge (110km/68mi) on Highway 40.

While the Visitor Centre, Jade Trail, farmers' market, and rain station are all within walking distance of most downtown accommodations, a car is needed to visit parks and some of the historic sites. Vehicle rentals are available at nearby Cache Creek and Whistler. Good snow tires are recommended for driving in winter as road conditions can be dangerous.  

Public Transportation

Greyhound Canada stops in nearby Lytton four times a day, and in Cache Creek three times a day . Mile "0" Taxi and Charter provides taxi and charter bus service within the Lillooet community.  Mile "0" also provides scheduled bus service with same day return to Kamloops and includes stops in Lytton and Cache Creek on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Rail Travel

The Kaoham Shuttle provides weekly rail service between Lillooet and the villages of Shalalth and Seton Portage. Groups can charter the train for longer runs.

Air Travel

The Lillooet Municipal Airport, located at 325 Jones Road just off Highway 12 on the east side of the Fraser River, services private planes and charters. CC Helicopters provides access abandoned gold mines in the mountains, as well as back-country skiing drop-off service.
